Administration
is the group of employees charged with carrying out [council set] policy.
It's existence and duty is to take care of the everyday workload of running
the MD of Northern Lights No.22 which means provision of a variety of
programs and services, based on priorities the Council has set for the MD.
The most important contact is the Chief Administrative Officer [CAO] who is
the administrative head of the MD. Under the CAO are the two
management positions, Director of Public Works and Director of Finance,
supported by department heads who lead and supervise employees in the day to
day operations.
The MD maintains a regular staff of about 26
people, with an additional 8+/- hired for temporary summer projects such as
vegetation management and the regravel program. Assessment services,
planning services, and animal control are provided by contract. Grader
beat service is completed via a mixture of contractors and regular staff.
