In accordance with the Emergency Management Alberta the Municipal District of Northern Lights No. 22 and the Town of Manning have established a Municipal Emergency Management Agency. The Director of the Emergency Management is responsible for fulfilling the obligations of this position pursuant to the Municipal District of Northern Lights No. 22 and the Town of Manning Municipal Emergency Management Bylaws. Part of this mandate is the developing and co-ordination of an overall municipal program of preparedness for, response to, and recovery from, emergencies and disasters as well as assisting other municipalities to develop and maintain a high level of emergency preparedness.
The Town of Manning and the Municipal district of Northern Lights No. 22 has mutual aid agreements with surrounding municipalities for fire protection.
The Director of Emergency Management for the Municipal District of Northern Lights No. 22 and the Town of Manning is Roger Smiley.
